How Hunt Cellars Wines Differ from Others
Though there may be many different wineries in existence in the same region as Hunt Cellars, other Paso Robles wineries cannot compare to the quality of Hunt Cellars. One of the major differences is that Hunt uses only the best and rarest mountain grown fruit, which in turn makes the best wine. Another thing that places Hunt Cellars above other wineries in the area including the boutique wineries is the composition of the soil that Hunt uses for planting. Hunt Cellars specifically chose the location for their vineyards based upon the diversity of the soil; this decision has placed them far above other Paso Robles wineries in quality. That isn't to say that other Paso Robles wineries lack quality but rather simply that Hunt Cellars produces a higher quality wine than other wineries of similar caliber.
Although the other wineries may be on the same level regarding quality, one cannot compare Hunt Cellars to any of the boutique wineries. By definition, boutique wineries are those producing under a specified number of cases of wine annually. Some use 2,000 as a guideline, but the fact remains that whatever numbers you choose, boutique wineries are those producing less cases of wine than the larger wineries. It's important to make your comparison to wineries on the same production level as Hunt in order to see the differences and similarities that exist. It is also imperative to compare the entire winemaking process, including the quality of the fruit that each winery chooses for making the wine. All of these factors will show you why Hunt Cellars has better tasting wines than the other wineries in the Paso Robles area.
