Paso Robles (El Paso de Robles) is a city under the jurisdiction of San Luis Obispo County and is the county's fastest growing city. It sits on the Salinas River and north of the city of San Luis Obispo. It is famous for its hot springs, California red wine, and sponsoring the California Mid-State Fair. The town was incorporated in 1889, three years after the arrival of the Southern Pacific Railroad.
